MMM: Monochrome bedrooms for kids

In fashion, black is always the new black.

But I would never have considered using it for a child’s bedroom. You have to stick to colour for children’s bedrooms, to keep it cheerful and bright and welcoming, don’t you?

Well actually, it seems you don’t.

These monochrome bedrooms look ultra slick, particularly when one or two accent colours are thrown into the design mix as well.

I think the secret is to keep the balance shifted towards mainly white, with black detail added later. Too much and it all starts to look a bit matchy-matchy – and gloomy.

Plus blackboard walls are the perfect canvases for budding Picassos.

Just don’t let them anywhere near the white paint.

Oh how I love this! This is actually the colour-scheme of my entire house as well as the kids rooms. With their toys/books being so bright with every colour under the rainbow, I find white and black is the perfect backdrop to keep it all clean and crisp looking :-)

I totally agree! Love it too. In fact, want to re-do both kids rooms after seeing these pics!
